Surprise Baby Sprinkle

So, on August 17th, my sister, Jenny and her family arrived from Las Vegas.
We decided ahead of time that we'd exchange babysitting all six kids
so that we could each take our turn going on a date with our husband.
Jenny insisted that Sam and I go out first.  After Jenny's family got settled, Sam and I left.
Sam took me to Texas Roadhouse for a nice steak and potato dinner.
Our frozen lemonades hit the spot.

When we arrived home, I saw Grandma Hallstrom's car and figured she stopped by to see
Jenny and her family.  When I walked in the kitchen from the garage, I was greeted by these ladies (and some friends and neighbor's) shouting, "SURPRISE!!!"

Amy's Baby Shower

I threw my oldest sister, Amy a baby shower earlier this month.
My younger sister, Laura made the fancy Rice Krispie treats.  We also had ham wraps, crackers and cheese, chocolate covered popcorn, candy, raspberry punch, and homemade strawberry ice cream cake.
Amy has some very sweet and generous friends.  I gave her the book, "Your Baby in Pictures" and a scrapbook where Amy can just attach pictures she takes of her baby girl's first year.

Congratulations, Amy and Nate!  You two will be great parents!
Amy and Nate's baby girl is due this March!

Megan's Baby Shower

Sarah and I threw a baby shower for my great friend and next door neighbor, Megan.
Megan is due in mid June with baby boy #3!

This was an open house style baby shower.  Don't worry, Megan had more than 3 guests!

Check out the fun and colorful decorations:

 We had a cookie buffet:

Can't forget the delicious fruit:

Sarah made these delightful cake pops:

Megan's mom, Megan, Kirsten (Megan's sister)

Everyone had an enjoyable time.  Can't wait to meet baby Ty next month!

New & Improved DCK4Dad

Each baby shower I go to must include my signature gift, "A Diaper Changing Kit for Dad."  I'm pretty sure I got this idea online a couple years ago.  Introducing my newest product: Diaper Changing Kit for Dad - the Deluxe Travel Edition.  (I totally made this up out of things that I already had at home.  My brain is pretty clever, don't ya think?)

I wrapped up this kit in bubble wrap tied it with a ribbon.
I attached a cute teething ring and a description of the kit:

Boys will be boys
and THAT'S why  I'm
presenting you this:

Diaper Changing Kit for Dad
the Deluxe Travel Edition

This kit is perfect for the on-the-go
Dad.  It includes:

- SLASH GUARD
  (garbage bag apron)
- NOSE PLUG
  (clothes pin)
- HAND SAVER
  (plastic gloves)
- CAR/CARPET SAVER
  (changing pad)
- DON'T STRESS THE MESS
  (wipes)

BONUS iTEMS:
- PROUD DADDY BUMPER STICKERS
(to proudly display on his "Swagger Wagon")
- GREEN ENVY BLANKET
(because everyone will be green with envy of this
   awesome gift)

The outer wrapping is the green blanket (mentioned above).  I attached a baby card to some fun ribbon and.... viola!  The gift is ready!
**My original Diaper Changing Kit for Dad includes: wipes, garbage bag apron, a clothes pin, and a pair of plastic gloves.  If I happen to have an extra baby onesie around, I include one with the kit.  It's a fun gift to give and always gets a good reaction out of the people at the baby shower.

I will miss serving with these amazing women.) Anyway, as you can see, we had alot of food and alot of fun. Beth's first baby, a girl, is due at the end of April. She received alot of nice gifts for her little one!

Jenny's Baby Shower

p
Last Saturday, some of my sisters and I threw a baby shower for Jenny at Laura's apartment. We were having so much fun that we forgot to take pictures until all the guests had left! Jenny had about 15 friends come. Jenny's best friend from back home, Valerie Serfas, came down all the way from BYU-Idaho! We enjoyed the cake and ice cream. All of us were having so much fun talking that we only had time for eating, opening gifts, and one game. The game that we played was called "What If?" Each person writes a question beginning with the phrase "What if..." Then they all switch papers and answer their original question on the back of that paper beginning with the word "Then." The question everyone answered was, "What is the worst thing that could happen on Jenny's delivery day?" It was a big hit and everyone had fun, I think.

Jenny received alot of nice gifts at her shower. She received blankets, several cute outfits, the cutest little sandals, baby soaps and lotions, etc. Jenny looks great at 7 months pregnant! I'm SO excited for my little sister's baby to arrive! Jenny and Seth will be awesome parents. CONGRATULATIONS again, Jenny!

Baby Shower

My family threw me a baby shower 3 weeks ago. Three of my sisters came and my mom just happened to be here all the way from NY. One of my surprise visitors was my second cousin, Angela. She came all the way from Logan to see me! It was fun to have family and friends shower me with gifts and help us celebrate the upcoming arrival of our baby boy. Only 9 more weeks to go! (I'm 7 months pregnant in these pictures).
