Giant Jenga

Giant Jenga was SO much fun to play at the Ward Family Reunion.
We let the youngest person in the family go first and continued on up to the oldest person in the family.  Once the Jenga tower got too high for the kids, the adults took over.  This game was a big hit.
I insisted that Kevin and Becky bring this game for next summer's reunion.

On one of my turns, I had difficulty finding a loose Jenga piece to remove.
I ended up finding a loose piece, but some of the spectators
were doubtful that the tower would still be standing after my turn was up.
As I slowly and carefully wiggled that piece around, the tower swayed.
But in the end, I was successful!
I was shocked at my success, shot my arms up in the air and let out a big, "Wahoo!"
Everyone got a good laugh out at my enthusiasm.
I'm glad I caught some video footage of Giant Jenga.
And in case you were wondering, Staci and her husband, Kyle each lost a round.
Practice up for next year, you two!

Heber C. Kimball Family Reunion Day

Sam is a descendant of Heber C. Kimball.
We attended the Heber C. Kimball Family Reunion held at
This Is The Place Monument Park in Salt Lake City.
There were probably 200 people in attendance.
We enjoyed a picnic lunch complete with strawberry shortcake under this pavilion.
During the family meeting part, Katie was rambunctious,  so I took her on a walk.

Tyler lucked out and won this sweet huge Star Wars kite in the raffle.
The adults enjoyed chatting.
Here's Sam's Aunt Deanne.
She is a great host and it's always fun to go visit her and the rest of her family.
The kids enjoyed playing in this mini sized town.
Riding a pony was fun too.
More views of the village.
It was a super hot day, and my kids didn't last as long as we'd hoped.
There were many fun things we could have done, but once we mentioned ice cream to the kids, there was NOTHING else that they wanted to do except get  ice cream.
The line for ice cream was way too long at this building,
so we left the park for good and ventured down to Wendy's so we could each enjoy a frosty.
We enjoyed a pizza dinner at Sam's parents' house with Aunt Laura,
Aunt Rosanne, Uncle Rafa, Zoey, Kevin, Becky, Owen, Wes, and Madalyn.
Then we hung out in the perfectly shaded backyard for a bit.
Becky started up a fun dice game that I participated in before heading home.
I feel so lucky to belong to such a great family.
Here is Tyler bonding with his cousin, Owen:

The sunset on the drive home was just gorgeous.

Katie's Baby Blessing

Katie was blessed at church by Sam on September 5th. We were lucky to have so many family members there to support Katie on her big day: Grandma and Grandpa Ward, Rosanne, Rafa, Laura, Staci, Kyle, Great Grandma Hallstrom, my Uncle Calvin, Amy, Nate, Laura, and Mark. I'm glad I took cute pictures of Katie in her dress before Sunday so I could display them in our house. One thing we failed to get was a family photo of all five of us. After church, we came back to our house for a yummy lunch. We had homemade Philly Steak sandwiches, fruit salad, potato salad, jello, pumpkin bread, cookies, etc. It was fun to see everyone and visit for the afternoon. Here are some random pictures from that day:

We are so lucky to have Katie in our family.  She's such a sweet baby and we just love having Katie in our home.  We love her so much!

Rosanne & Rafa's Wedding

My sister in-law, Rosanne married Rafa Angeles on May 6, 2010.  They were married at Wadley Farms in Lindon, Utah.  They had a beautiful ceremony and reception.  Several of the engagement pictures I took were on display at the reception.  It was fun for me to see my photographs on display.  Our little family was under the weather that day.  I'm sad I wasn't in the mood to take pictures at all.  Here's a shot of the whole Fred & Carolyn Ward Family (minus Katie who was still in my belly):

Congratulations, Rosanne & Rafa!

Later today, Rosanne and Rafa will get married!  Rosanne is my sister-in-law and I was glad they asked me to take their engagement pictures a few months ago.  Congratulations, Rosanne and Rafa!  We wish you nothing but the best!

Rosanne & Rafa

My sister-in-law, Rosanne is getting married in May! I met Rafa for the first time last weekend right before I took their engagement pictures. These two were fun to work with. I must say this was my first photo shoot with my new camera and I was a little nervous. I am quite proud of myself for being brave and using manual mode. (In the past I've always had my camera on auto mode). Here's a few of my favorite shots from our quick 30 minute photo shoot:
