"New" Hutch

I've been poking my nose around the local Antique Mall.
When I found this previously owned piece (at 25% off,)
I knew it was just perfect for that little space between the front door and the stairs.

It didn't take me long to fill it up the cupboards with my photography stuff,

the drawers with some great books and some fall issues of magazines,

and the shelves with fall scented candles, cinnamon pine cones, and other seasonal decor.

I love making my house a home! Am I weird to get excited over furniture?!

There's a couple items at the Antique Mall that I'm keeping my eyes on.  I'm thinking of purchasing these items early for Christmas.  Does anyone out there start their Christmas shopping before Halloween?

New Crib

Our old crib was on the recall list so we replaced it with this one:
Two of my friends in the neighborhood have this crib too.  We all love the new crib, especially Katie.  She can sleep through the night now, which is awesome!  There are some random nights where she wakes up around 2am for a quick milk break.  Here are a couple pictures of Katie (at 6 weeks old) enjoying the swing:

Our Front Room is Complete!

The front room was empty all last spring and summer.  My sister, Amy is letting us "borrow" these beautiful couches because she doesn't have room for them in her townhouse.  Thanks, Amy!  I love the couches and think they fit perfectly in this room.  If you look on the far right of the front room picture below, you can see a picture of the Palmyra Temple.  The picture was a gift from Amy. I bought the frame and spray painted it black. The matte around the picture is one that I had leftover from my college days.
I used last year's birthday money to buy these two rod iron wall hangings at Hobby Lobby.

I found this great lamp at a great price at Ross.
Then I found this black end table at the Real Deals Home Decor store in town.  It matches the lamp perfectly down to the rubbed red stained edges.  Sam bought me the end table for Christmas.  I love the big drawer where we can store our magazines.

So that completes the tour of my front room.  Stayed tuned for a tour of the boys bedroom!  It's still a work in progress.

Before & After

My sister, Amy was nice to lend us her couches. She recently moved to a townhouse and didn't have room for her couches. We're "storing" the couches for her. Don't they look great in my living room?!
