Even though my birthday isn't until April 26th, I already know what I'm getting for my birthday from Sam. Sam bought me the best birthday present ever. I am THRILLED to announce that WE HAVE BOUGHT OUR FIRST HOUSE!!! The house is in the same town where we live now. It was built in 2004 and sits on a .26 acre corner lot. There are 4 bedrooms, 3 full baths, an office, large family room, etc. We just had our home inspection yesterday and our house got an above average rating. There are just a few minor things that the sellers have to do: lower the water pressure and seal the water heater, put a light and ventilator combo in the downstairs bathroom, and hopefully get the jetted tub working. The house is no longer listed on the real estate website, so I'm sorry I don't have any pictures to post yet. We plan on being moved in by my birthday.
So yeah, I guess I gotta say "good-bye" to apartment living...so sad :( (May I have a moment of silence please to mourn the upcoming loss of my apartment living status........ Pppsh... just kidding!) It won't be a hard transition at all. I'm so excited that I'd move into my house tomorrow if I could.
But in reality, there will be a few things that I will miss and won't miss about apartment living.
What I will miss about apartment living:
- nearby playground (now I have one right outside my front door)
- view of the temple out my windows
- friendly neighbors
- lots of friends living so close (Thorneberry)
What I won't miss about apartment living:
- no garage
- shared walls with other families
- paying rent
- no private yard
- tiny kitchens
- tiny dining rooms (some carpeted)
- carpet that is older than I am
- not enough storage room
- tiny living rooms
- other peoples' kids crying and keeping me awake
- Thorneberry lawn mower guys waking me up at 7AM
- white walls
Things that get me excited about living in a house:
- it's my house
- I can decorate it how I want
- my own backyard
- big family room
- larger kitchen and dining room
- 2 car garage
- more privacy
- more storage
- guest bedroom
I'm sure there's alot more I could add to this list.

Hooray!! That's super exciting!!! We just put an offer on a house today...I'm not holding my breath too much, cuz this is our 3rd offer. I feel your cons about apartment living for sure! Our upstairs neighbor's kids stay up till atleast 11 every night. Can't wait for that to be over!!

Oh I'm so excited for you guys. I can't wait to see pictures. And having 1/4 of an acre, wow. I wish we had that much land in CA. You are going to love having a house. It is so much better than apartment living.
