We moved Brian and Tyler's into the bigger bedroom back in February. I didn't have to do much to their room because my boys really loved the jungle animal theme on the walls already. We bought bunk beds, matching comforters, and a set of two of these rugs:
I found this wall hanging for $1.50:
My friend, Mindy made these vinyl letters for these wooden blocks I've had for awhile:
Tyler had no trouble transitioning from his crib to the bottom bunk. The boys love their room. There's a few more things I want to do in there room... hang a magnet board or bullieton board in their room for them to hang their artwork and portaits of them, make a palm tree light (sounds strange, but it's gonna be neat lookin'), and hang a simple shelf above their window.
PROJECT #2 - NURSERY
I don't have a picture of what this room looked like before we redid it, but it was ugly! Just imagine a Sponge Bob wall paper border right above the chair rail, an ugly Sponge Bob valence, and two shades of blue on the wall. Sam and Brian had fun ripping off the wall paper border. I came in the room at one point in the demolition of the Sponge Bob room and said with my fist raised in the air, "DEATH TO SPONGE BOB!!!" The room has been totally transformed. Here's what the nursery looks like now:
Doesn't it look great?! We chose the kiwi green color paint color because it most closely matched the fabric that my friend, Megan will be using to make the valence and quilt. Sam did an awesome job painting and got it done in one weekend. My friend, Charee gave us a free gallon of white paint. Here's a nice touch lamp that I found for $4:
I love the set of two matching rugs I found:
Here's the crib bumper that I won on eBay:
I found a few of these cute butterfly baskets at the dollar store that work perfectly for the built in shelves underneath her window.
I made Martha Stewart's tissue paper pom poms with supplies I got at the dollar store. They were so easy to make:
I'm trying to decide which color(s) of pom poms I want to hang over the rocking chair. I'm thinking pink... what do you think?! There's a few more things I need to do to complete this room... hang the shelf I just painted white, decorate the shelf, paint the rest of the letters of her name and display them above her closet doors, get the valence and quilt displayed, and decide what to put in a couple picture frames and hang them.
Here's a couple more views of her room:
PROJECT #3- BACKYARD FENCE
Last weekend, the guys we hired started building our backyard fence. Here's what the yard looked like before they started:
And here's how much they got done so far:
This "weekend project" is taking alot longer than they said it would. Oh well, atleast we're getting it done for a good price, right?! I'm crossing my fingers that they'll be done with the fence by Friday night.

So I drove by your house the other day just to see how the fence project was coming along, it looks great so far, even if they are being a little slow. Love the nursery, it will be darling all completed, the boys room looks great too. I forgot to go in there the other day.
WOW that is a lot of projects. You should hire out your decorating services, you do such a cute job!!!!
The fence is coming along, good thing the posts all got set before this snow came back, eh?
I love the kiwi green color, and those pom poms are adorable. It's so sad when your baby girl gets old enough to not want the too frilly stuff anymore, enjoy it while it lasts!!!!
I love what you have done to the bedrooms. I love to see what others do to decorate. Looks great! I'm glad you got the nursery done before the baby comes.
I like the green you chose, it's pretty! You have all been busy too! The fence is coming right along hopefully it is complete now!
