HaPPy BirTHDaY, BRiAN!!!

(This photo was taken by me yesterday morning while we made Brian's frosted birthday brownies for today's festivities.  Yup, that's chocolate frosting that you see on his face and chin.  Brian completely edited this photo.  He didn't want my help at all and told me when he was all done.  He sees me editing photos all the time using Picasa and wanted to prove to me that he can do it too.  Pretty good job for a 5 year old, wouldn't ya say?!)

Today's Brian's 5th Birthday!  I can't believe he's 5 years old already.  Brian has grown up alot this past year.  His biggest accomplishment is that he's finally talking more, mostly in complete sentences.  He has lots of friends and loves to play.  Here's some other random facts about Brian these days:

- red is still his favorite color
- Curious George is still his favorite show
- loves preschool and riding the bus
- loves to help bake, do laundry, put away clean dishes
- checks the mailbox for me
- likes to type on the computer
- is learning how to sing songs
- recognizes several letters and numbers
- starting to become interested in reading
- likes to pile all the couch cushions, pillows, and blankets in the house into a huge pile, jump on it, and roll around
- very energetic
- is learning how to tie his shoes
- loves cutting paper with scissors
- has a sweet tooth
- very persistant when attempting to get what he wants

We are so lucky to have Brian in our family.  He's a sweet boy who loves to have fun.  It's been so neat to watch him grow up.  He's such a good lookin' boy.  People are always commenting on his amazing blue eyes and long lashes.  This fall, Brian will start Kindergarten.  I'm sure he will love going to the big school and will make new friends.  Brian is getting excited for his baby sister.  He keeps telling us, "Mommy's tummy has to get bigger first so the baby can grow big and strong before she comes out."  Smart boy.
