Tyler's 2nd Birthday Bash!

Tyler is 2! Time has sure flown by. The weather today is exactly like it was on the day Tyler was born... snowing on and off throughout the day.

This morning, Tyler woke up to a decorated dining room complete with red streamers and red balloons. I made him french toast. We lit two birthday candles and poked them into his meal. Without any prompting, Tyler asked for a "hat." So we put on his birthday hat, sang "Happy Birthday" to him, and waited for him to blow out the candles. Brian got impatient and blew out the candles the first time. We relit the candles a couple more times and let Tyler practice blowing out the candles all by himself. He loved his breakfast.

Afterwards, Tyler watched his favorite movie, "Bolt" with his Auntie Em (who is visiting from New York). Later on, we played with Play Doh (from Aunt Amy) and Brian assisted me in the making of the birthday cake. I let the boys put the sprinkles on the cake. I made a couple of Elmo cupcakes for Tyler. Emily and I took the boys in our backyard to play in the freshly fallen snow. The boys loved being pulled around in the sled. Sam brought home some pepperoni pizza for dinner. The boys were more interested in the Elmo plates and cups than they were the pizza. Then it was time for presents. Tyler got spoiled. Grandma & Grandpa Ward gave him a card and some money. Grandma & Grandpa Hallstrom gave him a stuffed monkey and a cool action figure. We gave him some goofy glasses, an fleece Elmo hooded sweatshirt, a Tonka car garage (his favorite), and a special Happy Birthday plate.
What a fun day we had with our favorite 2 year old! We love you, Tyler!
