We returned from our trip to upstate New York almost 2 weeks ago. We had a fabulous time. All 8 kids in my family were able to be home at the same time. Our trips all overlapped by 3 days. We packed in as much family fun as we could. The last time my whole family was together was in Salt Lake City, Utah for Jenny and Seth's wedding, over 3 years ago. We were all together for a day and a half for the wedding festivities, which is not enough time to really catch up. So this trip home was extra special.
We woke up bright and early (3AM) to get ready for our LONG journey. We locked up and left our home at 4am and headed to Salt Lake. My sister, Amy graciously drove us to the airport in our car and dropped us off. She parked our car at her apartment complex and kept an eye on it for us. Thanks, Amy! Anyway, our flight left around 7:30AM for Detroit. The boys did alot better than we anticipated. Surprisingly, their ears didn't bother them. Tyler loved playing on the floor under the seats and Brian loved climbing on my lap so he could look out the window. We felt lucky to look down upon a beautiful rainbow. It was harder to control the boys in the airport that it was in the airplanes. Brian threw a big temper tantrum in McDonald's because he really wanted to eat just an ice cream cone for lunch. We didn't cave in and let him have it. Brian also got really interested in a fancy water fountain in Detroit. As you can see from the collage pictures, it looks like Brian wet himself, but no, it's just water from the fountain, I swear! We were expecting my Dad to pick us up from the Rochester Airport, but my younger siblings, Laura and Mark, came to get us. It was a 2 hour ride to my parents' house. It was a long day.
