"If we don't forgive ourselves, we are liable to lower our standards or just plain give up. We may just conclude, "Being the kind of person I want to be is simply too far out of reach." But we can't lower our standards, that would be a tragedy in the highest form! Heavenly Father wants us to be tremendously good people. And that is why it is critical that we forgive ourselves. So that we can try again and again, with His gentle help, to reach that divine standard."
