to answer your question about the camera... my mom chose it out for me, but here's what I know about it. Canons and Nikon are basically sixes. It just depends on what you're used to working with. I mostly hear that professional photographers who started out with Nikon, switch to Canon. It seems to be easier to use from reviews I've read from big photographers. I think they're pretty much the same quality, just getting the quality picture might be easier on the Canon. The Rebel XSI isn't a way fancy high end camera. I think it's easy to use for the starting photographer, or in my case just taking pics of the family, not really doing anything fancy. It takes GREAT pictures and it's easy enough for me to figure out. Canons can use Nikon lenses, but Nikons can't use Canons. You can look up tons of stuff on them, but that's just what I've researched!
