Two days ago, Brian entered the Sunbeam class (for the 3-4 year olds) at church. The past couple weeks, the older nursery kids would come into Primary for singing time. Sam and I were still teaching the Sunbeam class, so we were there to see Brian. He did very well and paid attention, but didn't sing.
We prepared Brian for his first full day in Primary, telling him to listen and participate, and be nice to his friends. When Sam dropped Brian off for class, he wouldn't sit down. Brian just stood in the corner and watched everyone. There was a substitute, so we're not sure who will be his permanent teacher. Anyway, when Sam came to pick him up, the substitute said that he just stood in the corner the whole time and the only thing he would say was "Red, red." Poor Brian. Brian had a red balloon in the car that I took away before church started. He was really mad at me and threw a fit. I guess he never got over it. Hopefully next time it'll go better.
I tried to get a picture of Brian in new church clothes, but he changed his clothes too quickly after we got home. Darn it! Believe me, Brian looked sharp!
And in case you were wondering, Sam and I are no longer teaching the Sunbeam class. We both have new callings. Sam and another man are teaching the oldest class in Primary (the 10-11 year old kids). Also, Sam is the new Scout Leader for the boys in his class. I have been called to be an Activity Days Leader for the 8-11 year old girls. They are still in the process of calling another lady to help me. I'm excited for this calling and can't wait to get started. It'll be fun to work with girls for a change. In the past, I've been a Wolf Den Leader in the Cub Scouts. I had several very active 8 year old boys in my den. It was fun, yet exhausting. I have a feeling that the girls won't be as hard to keep up with.
