On November 4th, Grandma flew to Salt Lake City and spent the night at Amy's place. The next day, Amy brought Grandma up to Logan to see us! Grandma had not seen us since Tyler was a brand new baby. It was fun to see Grandma reunite with her grandsons. Brian totally remembered who Grandma was, but not Tyler! We ate Santa Fe Chicken for dinner that night. It was so yummy since it had cooked in the crockpot all afternoon. Amy and I made a last minute trip to the store. We finally found the cake my mom had been dying to try, coconut supreme cake with coconut frosting. After the boys went to bed, the rest of us watched King Kong on our big screen tv. It was very entertaining.
Tyler fell asleep on Grandma. Grandma loved every minute of that and even took a quick snooze too!
For lunch on Thursday, we had Great Grandma Hallstrom over for my mom's birthday lunch. All of us gave mom very thoughtful birthday cards. We ate sub sandwiches and that scrumptious coconut cake. We chatted in out living room for a long time. Amy had to go home. Great Grandma spent the rest of the evening with us.
On Friday, Grandma volunteered to watch Tyler so that I could take Brian on a mommy-son date. We went to a big playhouse in town. I chased Brian all over the place, crawling in and out of tunnels and going down slides. It was so fun. For supper, Brian had a pizza party with Grandma while Sam and I went to Sizzler for dinner. Tyler has been teething and has been extra fussy lately, so I'm especially grateful that my mom would still watched the boys for us. Sam and I both had big steaks for dinner.
And then today, we had to take Grandma down to Salt Lake for the last leg of her trip. We went to Amy's place for a yummy spaghetti lunch. My little sister, Laura was there too! The last time I saw Laura was in April. It was great to see her again.
Brian had a blast on Amy's porch. He chased a stray cat right off the porch. Then he kept trying to call the cat back. The cat never came back. Brian also found a ladybug that he was fascinated with. We lost it inside of Amy's apartment. Oh well.
Time went by way too quickly as always when we have out of town family visitors. Come visit us anytime, Grandma! We love you and miss you already!
