The Thankful Turkey and The Gratitude Journal

My friend, Koreena, has a fun family tradition that I'm going to adopt for my family. She makes the body of a turkey (out of construction paper) and then cuts out feathers of various colors. Then, every night after their family prayer, someone gets to say what they are thankful for and write it on a feather. Then the feather gets attached to the turkey. By the time Thanksgiving rolls around, they have a nice feather filled turkey, not to mention, very thankful hearts. What a great idea.

Don't worry, our Thankful Turkey won't look like this:

Oh, and P.S. - We're not vegetarians, like you might think after reading the turkey's sign he's holding up. We love eating turkey! Gobble Gobble!

Another great idea came from another friend, Amanda. She challenged us to keep a gratitude journal, like they have promoted on the Oprah show. So, I am keeping mine on my sidebar. Feel free to start your own gratitude journal too. Thanks for these fun ideas, girls. Anyone else have any fun Thanksgiving traditions?!
