Quality Time in Salt Lake City
Last Saturday, my little family and my Mom piled in our car and went down to Salt Lake City. We dropped my Mom off at the Conference Center. She went to watch Laura in her dress rehearsal for "Savior of the World." (I can't wait to see this production in a couple of weeks). Anyway, the rest of us walked over to the Church History Museum. Right as we walked in, an older lady missionary greeted us and told us that we'd love the exhibit called "I Am a Child of God" on the top floor. So we went up there to check it out. We loved it. Kids and families learn about the purpose of life through this exhibit.
Brian and I are making our own stained glass design for the temple.
Sam and Brian are guiding their cars to church with a magnet.
Brian looking at the forbidden fruit. I'm glad he didn't eat it :)
Sam's shirt matches the stone on display. I wish I knew what this stone is called. Can anyone fill me in?! Church History is not my forte.
Sam and the Angel Moroni.
After the museum, we met up with Amy on Temple Square.
Tyler taking a water break.
Brian takes his own kind of water break.
Precious father and son moment.

That stone is called a "sun stone". I took Church History at BYU. It's on the Nauvoo temple.
Cute pictures! I've wanted to take Matty to the museum but never have. I didn't know there was anything for kids. I think we'll have to make that trip soon.
I assumed the stone was called a "sun stone" before I checked the comments because it has a sun on it. I don't remember if I learned it in Church History. What's crazy is that we also went to Salt Lake last Saturday and went to the same exhibit. My kids love it too. We have been to it twice now. Too bad we didn't plan better, we could have met you in Salt Lake. We didn't get to the museum until close to dark (we aslo visited the Hansen Planitarium).
