In my home ward, Sister Mary Zurcher would make these cookies for every ward event. They were always the first dessert gone. She wouldn't share the recipe with me until my bridal shower. She gave me a copy of this recipe and a cookie jar full of these chocolate cookies. So, consider yourself lucky to have this secret recipe!
Secret Brownie Cookies
By: Mary Zurcher
1 box of brownie mix (for 9x13” pan)
¾ Cup flour
1 egg
¼ Cup vegetable oil
½ Cup water
6 oz. (plus) chocolate chips
Stir together brownie mix and flour; add vegetable oil, water, and egg. Mix well. The secret: The batter should be very thick- so I usually add flour (by the Tablespoon) until the batter is like cement! Stir in chocolate chips. Drop on a lightly greased cookie sheet by rounded teaspoon. Bake for 10 minutes (do not over bake!) Cool and enjoy!
Other goodies to try: peanut butter chips, mint chips, walnuts, etc.
