Preschool Open House

Last Thursday night was the Open House at Brian's preschool. Brian loved showing us around his classroom. I loved all the bright colors and all of the decorations the kids made. (Brian's self-portrait is the middle one. He cut short pieces of yellow yarn and glued it on the top of the boy drawing's head). Brian played in the pretend kitchen for a bit. But his favorite activity in the room was the rice pit. He didn't care about introducing us to his teacher, Miss Kim. Sam and I did meet Miss Kim. She seems very energetic and enthusiastic about her job. We could tell that she loves her job. (Brian's other preschool teacher from last year seemed burnt out as a teacher. So we are especially excited for Brian to finally have a fun teacher). The parents are very well informed about what is happening in the classroom by all the papers Miss Kim sends home. It is so nice to know what the kids are learning about each week and to have suggestions of fun activities parents can do with their child. I had no idea that the school would have book orders for preschool-age kids! I only have a couple more days to decide what books to order Brian for Christmas! I've never read Chicka Chicka Boom Boom or the I Spy books....any suggestions?

Chicka Chicka Boom Boom is a great one for learning the ABC's and the I Spy books are great for looking at and keeping kids quiet.(We take them to Stake Conference.) I am so glad that Brian likes school and that he has a better teacher this year.
