He SPEAKS!!!

On our short drive up to the mountain last Saturday, Brian added another word to his limited vocabulary. We are so proud of him and still can't wait for the day when Brian can speak in sentences. But for now, we'll take anything we can get. Good job, Brian! Also on Saturday, Brian added two other words to his vocabulary: Amy and Grandma. Both Amy and Grandma were visiting and in the room when Brian said their names. Happy Day!

Hi Lisa. I didn't know that Brian had a limited vocabulary. Both my boys are the same way. Jacob (my oldest) has actually been diagnosed with a high functioning autism. He attends preschool through the school district and loves riding the bus. David gets upset everytime Jacob gets on the bus because he wants to go to. We are going to have him evaluated next month with the school district to see if he qualifies for services. We hope to get a speech therapist for Jacob too. I totally understand what you mean when you say, "We are excited for the day when he can talk in full sentences." I get very excited with every little improvement in his speech and language skills! Sorry to ramble on, just wanted you to know I understand.

monica- kristy told me about your boys. it's nice to have someone that can completely understand what i'm going through. how old are your boys?! brian will be 4 in feb. and attends a special needs preschool (through the school district). he goes two days a week, rides the bus and everything. he loves it! and the teacher seems awesome. he is able to see a speech thearapist every time he's at school. keep me posted about your boys. i'd love any ideas you have. brian has been tested and everything...no autism for him. like your boys, brian understands most everything we tell him, can follow directions, but rarely tells us what he wants. it's so frustrating!
